JIMOH MOSES, MOPINA ON ‘WESLIANS’ RADAR

 MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers is looking at beefing up the squad ahead of the new season to start on December 12.

Information reaching this publication is that among their top target new signees in out of contract Mbabane Highlanders Nigeria-born defender and Captain Jimoh Moses.

Another top player the hub side are reportedly signing is Moneni Pirates goal-poacher Fabrice Mopina.

According to sources, the team is finalising negotiations with these players and they are as good as ‘Weslians’. “It’s almost a sure deal, the players have agreed terms with the team and will be joining Manzini Wanderers in the upcoming season,” confided a source.

Other players reported to be joining the maroon and white outfit are Linda Mbuli, Sandile Mhlanga, and Banele Dlamini among others. Though details of the new signees were scanty at the time of compiling the report, it was gathered that the hub side is looking at bringing about eight players to boost the team.

New South African Director Cedric Mathatha Mashile has reportedly forked out around E700 000 for the team to bring in new talent.

Meanwhile, head coach Nyanga Hlophe has submitted his list of players to the Rueben ‘Rhoo’ Nxumalo-led Management Committee (MC) for scrutiny and approval. Players reported to be released by the hub side include long-serving servants in Sicelo ‘Junior’ Simelane, Menzi Gamedze and Sifiso ‘Tjovitjo’ Maseko.

Other players the team is reportedly letting go include Jose Machado, Stanley Umukoro, Colani Dlamini, Kwanele ‘Zoo’ Dlamini, to be loaned out, Jonathan Ngwenya, Phila Dlamini, Buhle Msibi, goalie Mlondi Dlamini also to be loaned out and Benin’s Abboudou Chafiou.

Drawn for comment, the MC Chairman, Nxumalo, declined to comment, stating that the team Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mlungisi Ndzinisa was the rightful person to comment. The PRO was unreachable as his mobile phone was switched off when called yesterday.
