MBABANE – They have faith in her to lead them again.

That is the Equestrian Federation of Eswatini (EFE) President Glenda Warburton, who has retained her presidency and will be leading the local federation for another term.

During an elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Swazi Lizkhar Clubhouse on Thursday, November 19, 2020, equestrian club members voted her into office for another term as president.

Taking the position of vice president was Sue Elsey, who previously held the position of secretary general at the federation.

The new secretary general is Philippa Garrell, who held the position of treasurer in the outgoing executive committee.

reshuffle

Replacing Garrell as the treasurer will be Justine Martin, who was not part of the outgoing executive after its reshuffle last year.

Jeanine van Wyk will also be retaining her previous position in the outgoing committee as the technical liaison.

Completing the new-look executive committee is Lucy McKenzie, who had replaced Lesley Breton Smith as the membership liaison.

President Warburton confirmed the new executive committee through a communiqué stating that voting proceeded quickly and efficiently.

guidance

“Congratulations to all. We look forward to seeing our federation move forward under the guidance of a modern Board with much experience, not only in equestrian activities but other fields too. The trustees of the federation are Kate Reilly Warr, Michael Vincent and John Morris,” she said.

Warburton further added that during the course of the year, the outgoing committee took a decision to discount the membership fees by 30 per cent as there was no sporting activity taking place. It was further agreed at the AGM that these discounted fees will stand until the end of 2021, effectively giving a one year free membership.
