MBABANE – They want nothing but quality.

Tambankulu Callies FC have parted ways with nine of their players ahead of the new season.

This was confirmed by the premier league rookies’ Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nomfundo Nhlengetfwa, who said these changes were meant to make space for new players currently being assessed by the Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini-led technical team.

On the release list is attacking mid-fielder Colani Mamba, mid-fielder Siqiniseko Ndlangamandla, striker Meshack Sifundza, winger Siphesihle Nsimbini, central defender Zakhele Masilela, mid-fielder Nkululeko Lukhele, defender Ntokozo Magongo, striker Dumisani Ndzimandze and goalkeeper Abel Dlamini.

Nhlengetfwa said the nine players comprised of some of those they felt were no longer adding value to the team. “We are releasing nine players and they have all been cleared from the team. We released them in good faith and they are free to look for new teams. We had trials in the past weeks and we have a number of players still being assessed by the technical team. Their names will be announced once everything has been finalised,” said Nhlengetfwa.

One of the released players, Colani Mamba, who joined Callies in the past two seasons, said he was taking time-off the soccer pitch and had no intensions of being attached to any team at least for the 2020/2021 season. He played for Tambuti FC since 2013 until 2017 before joining Red Lions and then joined Callies when the latter were relegated.

“It was good while it lasted and I wish Callies the best of luck in the premier league. I am trying to rebuild my small business for now,” said Mamba.
