MBABANE – The Eswatini Golf Union President, Albert Mhlanga, is leading by example.

He is not only a good administrator but good in the sport in which he leads. Mhlanga has been crowned champions for two consecutive times. He also won the Mbabane Golf Club Leg of Lamb competition. He managed to defend the title after carding a score of 19 points. This was after a countback.

A countback is a procedure used to determine who among two people is the winner, based on past performance quotations. In this case, the president’s strong contender was Sandile Chonco, who scored 19 points. Coming third was ESRIC’s Teboho Mohapeloa while Lindizwe Gamedze beat Mbabane City Council CEO Gideon Mhlongo to the fourth spot after carding 18 points after a countback. ESRIC’s Thabiso Gama came in at sixth position with a score of 18 points. Mike Zwane was last on 17 points after a countback. The results were released by Mbabane Golf Club Ladies captain Fisiwe Vilane yesterday. She further revealed that this weekend they would host the club competition. “This week we are giving our major tournaments a break because there is one major tournament in Manzini. Our club competition will be played in individual format,” said Vilane.
