Our inspiration for this week is 24-year-old Natacia Motena, who is originally from Uitvlught, Mpumalanga, and is currently based in Pretoria, South Africa.

Her jaw-dropping physical transformation is living proof that anything is possible through commitment and hard work. 

If your goal is to have a year-round summer body, then this is definitely for you.

Let’s hear how she managed to become the best version of herself and let her story motivate you to chase your own fitness and health goals.

Name: Natacia Motena (24 years old from Pretoria)

For how long have you been exercising?

I joined the gym in January 2018. 

I trained for five months then joined Herbalife Nutrition but still never used the products because people around me were bad mouthing them. 

I continued training but nothing happened to my body because you can’t easily cut out bad eating habits. 

I attended a Herbalife event towards the end of 2018, where I saw everyone looking absolutely amazing with banging bodies and that’s when I went back home and started using the products as well as training like I’ve never did before.

What motivated you to start exercising?

I started because I honestly looked older than my age. Earlier in January 2018, I was on a vacation and I hated how my body looked in the bikini hence I joined a gym when I got back to Pretoria.  

I also hated the fact that elderly men would hit on me thinking I’m their agemate, that’s when I told myself that I love my body so much it was time to work on it.

How much weight have you lost so far?

My heaviest weight was 78.95Kg and now I weigh 62Kg. 

I have lost 16.95kg in two years.

What challenges did you encounter in your weight loss journey and how did you overcome them?

Well, all I can say is that fitness is not an easy road, but worth it. 

There were times where I couldn’t keep up with paying my gym contract but because I loved the results I was experiencing I had to teach myself to train at home and at parks. 

Another thing is that people compared me to people I started with and kept on telling me that I’m wasting my time as I wouldn’t change. 

I had to continuously remind myself that this is my journey and it won’t be similar to another person’s journey. Our bodies are different and the same applies to our metabolism. 

Also seeing many Herbalife distributors before and after pictures honestly motivated me that 

I’ll also get my results and soon my before and after will be flying all over.

How often do you exercise?

I train from Monday to Thursday. Monday I do legs, basically quads, calves and hamstrings. Tuesdays and Thursdays I do everything in the upper body including the stomach. 

On Wednesdays I only train the booty; it’s all about the glutes. I spend plus or minus two hours in the gym.

What are your fitness and weight goals?

I have honestly reached my goal. I’ve always wanted to be an all year bikini goddess and I’m finally here. Now I’m looking at enhancing the booty to grow a bit.

What nutritional changes have you made since you started focused training?

I had to change how I eat. It didn’t happen overnight. I started by eating small portions of the food I wasn’t supposed to eat, which isn’t healthy then went to completely cutting them off and eating extremely healthy. 

I’m also very high on Herbalife Nutrition products. 

I’m thankful to them because after 10 months of training and not taking them nothing happened but 10 months later of using them I managed to lose weight tremendously.

What’s your personal motivational slogan?

“YOU ARE A BEAST, YOU ARE A LION KING, YOU WERE NEVER BORN TO BE ORDINARY...YOU WERE BORN TO BE EXTRAORDINARY... GET IT DONE.”

How can you advise people who want to lose weight but lack the courage to start?

Be patient with your body because results don’t happen overnight.

Don’t compare yourself with anyone but work at your own pace. 

Eat healthy, get an eating plan, change your grocery because it doesn’t matter how much you train, the magic happens in the kitchen. 

It’s 80 per cent nutrition and only 20 per cent exercise. With a 100 per cent mindset, don’t be discouraged by people who keep on demotivating you. Keep your eyes on the body goal you want to achieve.

How has your life changed now that you live and breathe fitness?

I no longer get sick easily. I used to have flu at least twice a year and slight headaches but the last time I had that was in 2018. 

I look very young and I like it so much when everybody mistakes me for a 19-year-old. 

It really feels amazing and I’m out here helping everyone to get to their desired body goal as my body speaks for me and everyone is interested in what I am doing to keep it this way.
