EX-BIRDS PLAYER JOINS SUNDOWNS

MBABANE – They will really be a side to watch this season.

That is Denver Sundowns, who have added former Mbabane Swallows South African defender Siphamandla Matsenjwa. He adds to the already-rich signees including former Manzini Wanderers players in Mike Dombo and Mancoba Maseko.

Matsenjwa was part of the Mbabane Swallows team that took Africa by storm when they reached the group stages of both the Total CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup between 2016 and 2018.

He will link with his team-mate at Mbabane Swallows, Mandla Palma, who is also expected to make his return in the world football after two seasons not actively playing due to an injury. 

Sundowns will open the camping with the Manzini derby where they will face Manzini Wanderers on Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre, kick-off time will be 1pm and the next game will be between Mbabane Swallows and defending champions Young Buffaloes. Sundowns Assistant Public Relations Officer (PRO) Thabiso Manyatsi confirmed yesterday that they had finally landed the South African defender and he is set to sign a one-year contract. Sundowns added another international player in Arron Chilambe from Zambia. “We would love to announce the promotion players from development to the senior team, the players have been impressive in the development side and as a team we decided to reward their hard work with a promotion to the senior team. We would also like to thank the chair for always being a pioneer when it comes to player’s development,” he said.
