SMBA FUN DAY UNITES FAMILIES
MBABANE – “This was a wonderful day to have fun with family.”
These were comments by Peta Van Wyk, who had come to support her family during the Swaziland Motocross Bike Association (SMBA) Fun Day which was held at Dwaleni Farm Lodge on Sunday. Peta, wife to James Van Wyk, was also joined by Aaron, Wren, Axel and Levi.
However, not all the family members were participating in the one day event which attracted over 60 riders.
Only Aaron, Levi and James were riders. The Aaron and Levi were competing in the Support 50 category, while the former took part in the Senior Enduro X Cross.
Noteworthy is that Aaron (five) was the youngest rider in the event. The event which started at around 10am with warm-up session. The race actually started an hour later. Some of the tracks that riders participated in are MX 3, Senior Enduro X tracks, Support 50 and PRO 50s, 65 and Junior 85s.
“It was a wonderful day out with the family. Events like this one unite families. We had lot of fun, we witnessed some interesting races and we appreciate the great sportsmanship displayed by the riders,” Peta said.
Other riders who came with their family members were Sales, who included Chase and Vaughn and they participated in the PRO 50s and 65s respectively. The Kummers namely; Deyrah and Sven participated in the Junior 85s. The Toeptors were represented by Timo in the Senior 85, while the Youngs were represented by Seth, Blake and Eli who participated in the Senior 85s,H/S 125 and 65s. Jason and Justin Volmink took part in the 65s and 125s.
