LUNGELO REUNITES WITH SUPERSPORT
MBABANE – Eswatini International under-20 star Lungelo Simelane has returned to action.
This follows that the Gauteng Dstv Under-20 league has returned to action. The former Jomo Cosmos youngster plays for SuperSport juniors. The team is based in Pretoria.
Amatsatsantsa Ako pitori, as the team is affectionately known is part of the junior league in the Gauteng Province. The league which has 16 teams will see champions taking home E100 000 and will restart on March 12.
This was confirmed by the player who left the country yesterday to join his team.
“I have been called to join the team for their training session. They sent me a memo saying that the league will restart on March 12,” said Simelane.

“I’m excited about the return of football as we have been off since last season. The team is in good spirits we hope to start the season on a higher level,” he said.
He also revealed that they their first game will be against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM). The league had to be cancelled in August last year due to COVID-19.
Simelane was discovered during a Scara Thindwa Soccer Foundation tournament six years ago. He was named the player of the series and that is where his career started to bud.
He joined Royal Leopard under-13 then was promoted to play in the under-15 when he was 14 years old. A year later he was discovered by Jomo Cosmos owner Jomo Sono, who described him as a rare talent.
He played for a season at Jomo Cosmos under-17 before he was snatched by the University of Pretoria, where he also spent a season.
Supersport United had to fork out E70 000 to get the player from Amatuks.
