PSG’S DIALLO TO FACE SIHLANGU
MBABANE – While Liverpool’s forward and Africa’s best player Sadio Mane remains doubtful for the AFCON 2022 Qualifiers against Sihlangu, Senegal coach Aliou Cisse has called up three Europe-based stars.
Highlighting the call-ups is France’s Ligue 1 giants, PSG left-footed and well sought-after defender Abdou Diallo and English Premier League former champions Leicester City’s midfielder, Nampalys Mendy. However, the Teranga Lions’ coach, Cisse, also summoned Ligue 1 side; Monaco’s left-back Fodé Ballo Touré as he paid attention to binationals, who they also refer to as Franco-Senegalese players.

According to The Daily of Senegal, they learnt that Cisse was being cautious after Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp made it clear there was no way he would let his players attend the qualifiers, be it World Cup or AFCON 2022, which affects a number of his African and South American stars. Only these players so far have been named while Mane, Italy’s Serie A outfit, Napoli Captain and centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly are among some of their big names missing for the last two group I qualifiers on March 26, away to Congo-Brazzaville and on March 30 at home to Eswatini’s Sihlangu. Sihlangu coach Dominic Kunene also had his squad released this past Sunday and it includes as a new edition of Mbabane Highlanders’ striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and Mbabane Swallows’ young midfielder Nhlanhla Ngwenya.
