RUDE WELCOME FOR RETURNING MALANTI COACH
MBABANE – Returning coach, Raymond Dlamini, received a rude welcome after he suffered his first defeat at the hands of Denver Sundowns here yesterday.
Dlamini, who coached Malanti Chiefs last season but was later relieved off his duties for Christopher Tembo. The latter has left the Pigg’s Peak based side and Dlamini has replaced him once again. It was not an easy start for the returning Dlamini after the Terisayi Changara-led charges handed him a 2-1 defeat. The loss for the home side means they are still rooted at the bottom of the log with a point. Sundowns on the other hand jumped from eighth to the third spot with nine points after five games. The first half there was nothing to report home as both teams failed to create clear cut scoring opportunities.

It was the second stanza that was action packed with the visiting side showing more vigour when attacking. They eventually broke the deadlock through former Manzini Wanderers midfielder Mancoba ‘Spider’ Maseko, who tapped in for a Lwandile Ginindza cross two minutes before the hour mark. Sundowns added to their tally seven minutes later through man of the match Ginindza. He took on defenders on a solo run on the left flank before unleashing a powerful shot to beat the advancing Colani Mngometulu across the sticks. The home side reduced the deficit with six minutes to go through Myalo Gwebu. He benefitted from a goal-mouth scramble to hit the ball home to make it 2-1. They pressed on for an equaliser but it was a little bit too late as referee Thulani Sibandze blew the final whistle much to the disappointment of the home side.
