FIRST EVER TEQBALL TOURNEY IN ESWATINI
MBABANE – History in the making.
The Teqball Eswatini Federation (TEF) will be hosting its very first Teqball tournament in the country since its establishment in 2019. The tournament will run throughout the month of May 2021, with round one scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre in Manzini. TEF Secretary General Nolwazi Ngwenyama announced the tournament. She said the singles would be open to 16 players and they would only register eight teams. The tournament is called the National Challenger Series tournament. The TEF had been busy in the past two years empowering the nation on how to play the sport and donating some teqball tables that are now found almost all over the country. The federation even involved some football teams within the sport and some team were handed the teqball playing tables.

Now it is the time to get down to business and the first player and the first team to win the tournament will go down in history as the first ever champions of teqball in the country. “The competition is only open to the first 16 players to register for the singles event, and the first 8 teams to register for the doubles event. The singles event will be played on Saturday, followed by the doubles on Sunday,” she said. Ngwenya said more information, such as the format of the competition, COVID-19 regulations for teams, and the media, would be communicated today.
