ATHLETICS STANDARD HIGH –‘DINO’
Manzini – The Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC) Board Chairman Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini was among those who were highly impressed by the 2021 National Championships.
Dlamini was part of the distinguished guests at the Athletics Eswatini (AE) event held on Saturday at the Mavuso Sports Centre. Other ESRC personnel included Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Darius Dhlomo and Zama Tsabedze among others. The Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga and Under Secretary Nhlanhla Motsa were also present. “The competition was very organised and professional. We would like to thank AE for organising such an event and the athletics standard is very high,” said Dlamini.
He made an example of the 100m sprints and relays, which he said were very much interesting to watch. Just like Minister Bulunga, Dlamini said it was interesting to watch REPS’ athlete Bongiwe Mahlalela, who was among those who stole the spotlight at the event. “I think we should encourage continuity on the build-ups, they are very helpful and the presence of the minister was a motivation on its own to the athletes,” he said.
Meanwhile, AE President Zakhele Lukhele also noted that the standard was very high. He thanked the media and sponsors.
