ESWATINI REFS IN LESOTHO, MOZ GAME
MBABANE – Three of the country’s referees were in charge of the international friendly match between Mozambique and Lesotho.
The trio of Celumusa Siphepho, Zamani Simelane and Petros Mbingo were in charge of the match played at Zimpeto Stadium, Maputo where the national team Sihlangu is expected to play Lesotho and Mozambique on Saturday and Monday. Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe confirmed yesterday that they got a correspondence requesting the referees and they travelled to the neighbouring country to officiate in the match.
Women’s
Sihlangu and the national women’s team Sitsebe will leave the country tomorrow for Mozambique where they will honour friendly matches. Radebe said it had not yet been confirmed which country would play first against Sihlangu on Saturday. The three countries being Eswatini, Lesotho and Mozambique are preparing for the oncoming Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Senior Challenge that is yet to be announced when and where it would be hosted this year. Sihlangu Coach Dominic Kunene called 28 players for the international friendly games and they are already in camp which started on Monday. He is expected to travel with all the players to Mozambique as he had two matches to play.
