MUZI, DINIZE DEFEND NATIONAL CHAMPS
BIG BEND – They have successfully defended their national championships.
These were MTN Khemani’s Muzi Shabangu and 4EVA Cycling Club’s Dinize Wilsch, who emerged as champions in their respective categories to not only win the 4EVA Fast and Furious Road Championships but also retain their championship status which they won in 2019.Shabangu was the first liSwati to cross the finish line in the 150km race, clocking an improved time of 4:08:57 hours. In the 2019 National Road Championships, the MTN Khemani cyclist clocked 4:52:32 hours to claim the championship of the 160km race which was held at Lozitha. Wilsch on the other hand clocked an improved time of 2:32:01 hours which saw her defending the championship race in style in the 76km.In 2019 she had finished the 96km championship in 3:34:55 hours.

Meanwhile, Kwanele Jele and Makepeace Bailey were also declared new national championships in the under 21 and under 17 categories respectively. The former clocked 4:14:47 hours to finish the 150km while Bailey finished the 76km in 2:11:33 hours. Interim Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA) President Mbusi Motsa announced the four as the new national champions in their respective category during the prize presentation which was held at MA Ranches House after the event. He disclosed that they would receive their kit in a month as it was the norm for national championship winners. He also highlighted that they would call a press conference to present the winners their kit.The national championships usually represent the country when there are races outside the country.
