LEOPARD TAKE AIM AT ZESCO
MBABANE – Going for the kill!
That is police ensemble Royal Leopard, who face Zambia’s Champions, Zesco United in CAF Champions League first round preliminaries clash on Saturday at Mavuso Sports Centre. Kickoff is at 3pm. The two sides will be playing against each other for the first time in the history of the CAF Champions League. Leopard coach Edwin Matsebula, who led his team to the MTN Premier League triumph in the past season, said they would have to secure positive results on Saturday if they are to have chances of making it to the second round of the preliminaries.
Arrived
Zesco United arrived in the country through His Majesty King Mswati III International Airport yesterday and they are booked at Esibayeni Lodge. “We are not done with our preparations as we still have two days to go before the clash. We are doing all our best to be in the right shape on Saturday as we are going for a tough match. Zesco United are one of the big clubs and it is unfortunate that it is a club that we have never played against and we don’t know much about them,” he said.
Courage
The soft-spoken Matsebula said playing at home gave them more courage of winning the match and going to the second leg clash with an advantage. Meanwhile, Leopard Public Relations Officer (PRO) Frank Hurube said the squad was high in spirit and they were looking forward to the match. He said it was only Fanelo Tsabedze who was doubtful for the match otherwise the rest of the players were ready for action. Leopard were due for COVID-19 tests last night ahead of the match.
