THULANI, CO FOR ORAPA CAF GAME

MBABANE – The country’s referees will take centre stage in the CAF Confederation cup second round preliminary game against Cameroon Cotonsport De Garoua.

The 2020/21 MTN Premier League best referee Thulani Sibandze will lead a pack referees to officiate in the match to be played on October 16, 2021 in Francistown, Botswana. Sibandze was announced last Thursday as the best referee for the past season during the MTN Premier League prize presentation ceremony. The duo of Zamani Simelane and Ndumiso Magagula will be the first and second assistant referees while Leticia Viena is would be the fourth official. Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe confirmed yesterday. He said this was good for the country.

“We got a correspondence from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) appointing the four referees from the Confederation Cup game and they will be leaving the country for the assignment,” he said. On the same day, Royal Leopard will be away in Angola where they will be playing against Esperance Segrada in the second round of the CAF Champions League preliminary round. They reached the second round after shocking Zambia’s ZESCO United whom they defeated on away goal rule with the aggregate score at 2-all.
