MBABANE - Eswatini FIFA Accredited referee Letticia Vianna   has been selected to officiate during the Total Energies CAF Women’s Champions League.

This is according to a correspondence from Confederation of African Football (CAF) which was released yesterday. The CAF has announced the list of 25 match officials to officiate the first Champions League, to be held in Egypt. The tournament will kick off on Friday, November 5 to 19.  The  opening  match  will  see  Wadi  Degla  FC  (Egypt)  play  AS  Mandé  (Mali)  at  30  June Stadium at 4pm. The list consists of 12 referees and 13 assistant referees from 19 countries.  Other officials are from South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, Malawi, and Morocco, to mention just a few.

Reached for comment, Eswatini Football Association Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe said he had not seen the correspondence. “I can only confirm upon reaching office tomorrow (today) or you can call other relevant stakeholders to confirm,” Radebe said. Efforts to get comments from Eswatini Referee Association (ERA) secretary Mbongeni Shongwe proved futile as his mobile phone rang unanswered when called several times yesterday.
