NOBUHLE JUNIOR GOLF CHALLENGE ON APRIL 23
MBABANE – Children are the future and we can only open doors for them.
South African-based ace golfer Nobuhle Dlamini would be hosting a Junior Golf Day at the Ezulwini Golf Course on April 23, 2022. This would be an annual event, dubbed Nobuhle Dlamini Junior Golf Challenge. Dlamini said the tournament was aimed at motivating, inspiring and giving hope to the children of Eswatini. From humble beginnings in Lobamba, the professional golfer continues to hoist the Kingdom of Eswatini’s flag through her successful golf career and she wants to share that legacy with the local community, especially children, who are the future of the country.
She was the first Eswatini professional golfer to play internationally and had her name engraved in the Sunshine Tour records, when she lifted the Investec South Africa Women’s Open championship in 2019. “I thought I should pay it forward by making a small contribution, which could have a huge impact in the few years to come. Right now, the golf industry in the country is going through a severe decline.
Inspiration
“We need growth. I therefore see an opportunity in the children of Eswatini. Junior golf development needs a huge boost and inspiration. Children are the future and we can only open the doors for them,” Dlamini said. She further said the annual event would create job opportunities for locals, empower women and keep children away from substance abuse. With production still in progress, Dlamini said the value of the sponsorship would be announced next week.
