REPS CAPTAIN WEDS, CLUB STORMS SEMIS
MBABANE – The country’s pool witnessed yet another white wedding over the Easter weekend when REPS Captain Sifiso ‘Mkhulu’ Dlamini got hitched.
The wedding took place last Saturday in the capital city at Thokoza Guest House, in the presence of his teammates and officials from the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS). His team’s opening Dixie’s International Knockout Tournament 2022 was scheduled for Sunday morning on their request as they had attended the wedding. REPS had an easy fixture against struggling Stairs and won it 13-0 before the big quarter-final win against bitter rivals Manzini Pool Club (MPC). “We dedicated the win against Manzini Pool Club to him,” teammate Sithembiso ‘Dodge’ Matsebula said.
Meanwhile, Dlamini’s soulmate is Gugulethu Mndzebele, who he had known for some time before they took the decision to marry. The captain was excused from the Stairs game last Sunday as well as the quarter-final clash against MPC who they outfoxed 13-5 to reach the semi-finals set for this Saturday as well as the final. Other remaining teams are Malkerns, who stunned Way Inn in the opening match before knocking out fellow rookies Ntontozi in the quarters and Manzini Masters. The latter beat Ludzeludze I in the quarters played on Easter Sunday with a 13-8 margin, while their opening match the previous day was a 13-6 win over Garrison. Defending champions Figaredo were knocked out on opening day by Correctional who won 13-10.
