MJ BAGS E21 000 IN FNB CHALLENGE PRE-QUALIFIER

NKONYENI – Eswatini golfer MJ Dlamini proved why he recently turned professional.

This was after he won the First National Bank (FNB) Nkonyeni Challenge which was played at Nkonyeni Golf Estate between Saturday and yesterday. The golfer, who turned professional early this year, carded a combined score of 146 gross to not only qualify to play in the Sunshine Tour Golf tournament slated for July 28-30, but took home E21 000. “I want to thank my parents for investing in me to become a professional golfer. I also want to thank the sponsor of this tournament and lastly Nkonyeni Golf Estate for the platform,” MJ said.

He also said he was looking forward to the Sunshine Tour event, saying he was hopeful  of winning it. Coming second was the pair of James Pennington and Thulani Mkhaliphi, who carded a score of 151 gross, each taking home E12 600, while Sifiso Vilane completed the top three with 153 gross. Shinning in the amateurs was Machawe Maziya on 39 points. Winning in the ladies category was Vanessa Jackson on 31 points.
