MBABANE – They have a point to prove.

That is local taekwondo artists who will be facing opponents from six Southern African countries on Saturday during the 2nd Next Generation Swazi Tigers Taekwondo Championship and Aerobics Teams Challenge. The challenge will also be a test ahead of the trip to the African Championships to be held in Rwanda next month.

Some of the artists who are set to excel in the challenge on Saturday include Wandile Maziya, Saneliso Masuku, Gcinumuzi Nxumalo, Sifiso Dlamini, Sihlelelwe Matsebula, Carlota Munave and Sivunwesihle Dlamini, among others. Former Sports Women of the Year Carlota Munave will be returning to competitive action for the first time since 2019. She said she was hoping for the best as she was out of action for too long due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I have not fought since July 2019, so this game will be a test match for me ahead of the Taekwondo African championships to be held in Kigali, Rwanda, next month,” she said.
