SIHLANGU FANS’ TRIP TO COSAFA CANCELLED
MBABANE – In a sudden turn of events, the national team, Sihlangu fans will not be travelling to watch the team play in the Hollywoodsbets COSAFA Cup.
The fans had planned to travel to Durban, South Africa to watch live the Sihlangu second game in Group B of the tournament against Malawi. The game is billed for next Friday at King Zwelithini Stadium. The national supporters’ vice secretary Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya announced the cancellation yesterday. The fans will not be travelling at a time when going to South Africa had been made easier after the cancellation of COVID-19 rules and the fans were due to enjoy free entry to the games.
“The National Executive Committee of the national supporters of Sihlangu kindly extends its million apologies, as it is forced to postpone the Durban Trip which was set for next week Friday. On consultation with our Durban networks we were advised that due to being winter we cannot be allowed entry into two places of interest for safety reasons. So, as National Executive Committee we felt then this would deprive the supporters’ full entertainment and pleasure,” reads a statement.
Ngwenya said looking at the situation, they had to take an urgent decision to postpone the Durban Trip until further notice, but as advised by their Durban networks that it was good during summer. He said they might consider for around August, but they would update the supporters. “We send our million apologies great supporters, but we take this opportunity to wish our national team the best of luck in the COSAFA
