MHLUME CLUB SPOILS BIRMINGHAM-BOUND SQUAD
SIMUNYE – Mhlume Country Club has spoiled the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games squad.
They honoured the team with a dinner, after four days of camp at the venue. The team comprised of the 12 athletes and about eight officials, including the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) Board members, led by the President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa. The team will be leaving the country on July 26 and they were in camp to build team spirit and also go through the protocols to be followed at the games, starting July 28 to August 8. Mhlume Country Club’s Cebile Dlamini, said they were honoured to host the team at their establishment.

“We decided to give back and give the team a dinner ahead of their trip. We are hopeful that they will represent the country well, while in the United Kingdom,” she said. EOCGA President Mthethwa was grateful for the kind gesture. “We have had a good stay here and we are happy that they are also giving back and supporting the team. The team benefited big time and the facilities were great for the athletes,” he said. The squad is made up of athletes from four sporting codes that include athletics, boxing, cycling and swimming.
