SITSEBE STAR, EX-‘WESLIANS’ DEFENDER FOR ARMY JOBS
MBABANE –National women team Sitsebe player Futhie Dlamini and former Manzini Wanderers defender Jose Machado are on course to join Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF).
Dlamini and Machado were announced among the six who qualified for the next phase of the army recruitment exercise - vetting. The duo were part of the about 400 aspiring soldiers who joined the race for jobs in the UEDF under Manzini North Constituency. This was after they excelled in the physical exercises; 3.2km race, jack-knives, push-ups and sit-ups.

Reached for comment, Machado, who is a full-back for MTN National First Division side Milling Hot Spurs, said since it was off-season, he prepared for the army recruitment exercise by doing roadwork and the other physical exercises every morning. Dlamini, on the other hand, said as long as she was working for the security forces, she would be happy. “I joined Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) Athletics Club in 2017. I’m a sprinter. I also play for Royal Leopard and the national team, Sitsebe, as a left back. All I need is a job in the security forces,” she said. Others who qualified for the next phase of the army recruitment exercise were Majahonkhe Sibandze (26), Nhlonipho Dlamini (27), Lingene Dlamini (22) and Nokwanda Mkhwanazi (26).
