FA APPOINTS ‘NYANGA’, ‘BARNES’
MBABANE – Veteran gaffer Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe has been appointed head coach of the national Under-17 side.
The appointment of the former Mbabane Swallows and Manzini Wanderers coach was announced by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) in a press release yesterday. The EFA Executive Committee had engaged in a process to review the coaching structures of the various national teams under its auspices. The process commenced in February this year and it was concluded in May.
Approved
Hlophe’s name appears on the list of approved coaches for technical benches of the various national teams. According to the statement, Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane will remain in charge of the national Under-23s while Wanderers co-Coach Mduduzi ‘Sikhalo’ Nxumalo takes over the Under-20s. Nxumalo will be assisted by the duo of Young Buffaloes Coach Sabelo Mnisi and Mbabane Highlanders legend Sifiso ‘Barnes’ Mkhulisi. The appointments are across the board, with Simephi Mamba from Young Buffaloes Ladies leading the senior women national football team Sitsebe.
Assisted
The latter will be assisted by well-known Zimbabwe-born Coach Zenzile Mpofu. “It is further noted that other national teams, more particularly the junior national teams were inactive in respect of the schools calendar, which was at the beginning of the year to make amends for the year 2021 which was concluded in the current 2022,” further reads the statement.
