MORE COSAFA TOURNAMENTS COMING, KING TOLD
LOZITHA – The Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) is contemplating bringing more tournaments in the future.
This was revealed by the COSAFA President, Artur de Almeida e Silva during a courtesy visit to the King at Lozitha Palace by the COSAFA team and the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) executive led by President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane last night. The COSAFA team is currently in the country for the 2022 COSAFA Under-20 Men’s Championships. The country welcomed 12 countries for the tournament, which Eswatini was part of.Making his remarks e Silva said they were happy with the hospitality they received from emaSwati and this tournament was a catalyst to promote culture among the COSAFA countries.
Challenge
He told the King that they were planning to bring more tournaments into the country, but the challenge was the issue of stadiums. “We are planning to bring more tournaments and such tournaments need CAF standard stadiums. So we need your support in improving the stadiums,” the president said. He further thanked the sponsors, Inyatsi Construction and Eswatini Mobile, for the support and said they were happy as this was their mandate to bring more sponsors to improve the sport in the region. Meanwhile, the King welcomed the COSAFA team into the Kingdom and wished them a good stay while in the country.
