NSINGIZINI HOTSPURS BUY KAPPA LADIES
MBABANE – They have beaten senior teams to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Club Licencing requirement.
That is Nsingizini Hotspurs who recently earned their elite league status by buying out Vovovo status and have upped their muscle further. This is after they purchased a ladies team, Kappa Ladies. Sooner or later no club will play in CAF’s interclub competitions like the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup without meeting this requirement, which CAF put its implementation ahead of the current CAF games on halt to allow clubs the time to form a ladies clubs.
Despite that Nsingizini were not willing to go on record on the purchase of the ladies team, Kappa Ladies boss confirmed that he has sold Kappa Ladies to them. “It is true that all 100 per cent of Kappa Ladies shares now belong to Nsingizini Hotspurs,” Mabuza said. Questioned about the selling price, he preferred not to divulge the figures.
Superiors
Nsingizini Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mncedisi Bhembe said he was currently in consultations with his superiors to give a proper response. When later called for further verification, Bhembe said his superiors were still locked in a meeting. He also suggested that their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mphikeleli Dlamini be reached if he did not return with a response. The CEO was not immediately available as his cellphone rang unanswered.
Meanwhile, Nsingizini join other elite teams that have registered women teams. These are Mbabane Swallows, Royal Leopard, Young Buffaloes, Green Mamba and Manzini Wanderers as well as Tambankulu Callies. They will have the maiden match in the Women Football League next week when it officially kicks off the new season. Army side Buffaloes are the defending champions.
