LEOPARD BEAT BUCS 2-0, UP TWO PLACES
MBABANE – Second half goals from Lungelo Tsabedze and Junior Magagula were enough to help a faltering Royal Leopard redeem themselves from their defeat last weekend.
The MTN Premier League defending champions beat Moneni Pirates 2-0 yesterday in a match played at KaLanga Technical Centre. The police side came into this clash reeling from a 3-2 shocking loss to elite rookies, Madlenya last Sunday. Forward Lungelo Tsabedze broke the deadlock for the defending champions in the 69th minute and while midfielder Junior Magagula made sure that Pirates did not return into the game with a second goal in the last 15 minutes.
Relieved
The win moved the Edwin Matsebula-coached Leopard two places up in the standings with 10 points. Matsebula will be a relieved man after his side won without conceding. Pirates coach, Coaster Magongo said though he lost the game, his players tried their best to win it.
“The boys did all they could to win the game today (yesterday) and I wouldn’t blame them for the results. I hope the Moneni Pirates supporters will forgive us for the results it just wasn’t our day,” he said. Leopard will next play Mbabane Swallows in a titanic fixture on Saturday afternoon at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium, while Moneni Pirates play Manzini Wanderers at Mavuso Sports Centre also on the same day.
