The table toppers, who scooped the most gold and silver medals was South Africa, who took home 59 gold, 26 silver and 20 bronze medals. This brings their total to an unmatched 105 medals. Zambia was the second best in the competition with 57 medals collectively.

Angola collected a total of 36 medals .Zimbabwe had 79 while Namibia and Mozambique bagged 39 and 17 medals, respectively.
EOCGA Board Member Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini, who was also Team Eswatini Chef de Mission said they were very happy with the performance of the Eswatini athletes and mentioned that it was an improvement from last year’s showing despite that the country had just only 11 athletes .Mavikane applauded the athletes for this achievement in light of the challenges they faced ahead of the competition. “We had a great team and they did great. This was perfect for us as Eswatini considering that we had about 11 athletes .Countries like South Africa are well advanced,” Dlamini said. Team Eswatini had a 17-member delegation made up of 11 athletes from three different sporting codes, namely swimming, athletics and taekwondo.
