‘MZORO’ CONFIDENT AHEAD OF FORCES DERBY
MBABANE – Royal Leopard Captain Muzi ‘Mzoro’ Dlamini, seems to have a perfect plan on how to ‘devour’ the mighty Young Buffaloes in the forces’ derby on Saturday.
The match will be played at KaLanga Technical Centre in Siteki at 3pm. Sharing an insight on the team’s preparations for the army rivals, Captain ‘Mzoro’ shared that the spirit in camp was high and with the availability of all players, including marksman Junior Magagula, impressive twins Fanelo and Lungelo, plus a resistant defence led by the sturdy Thami Zulu, Dlamini said the coaches would be spoiled for choice.
shortcomings
However, he admitted the team’s shortcomings in the current season, which has seen them losing four games; winning three and settling for draws in two. Going into the 10th fixture, while seated at position seven of the table and their opponents at the summit with 19 points, the ‘Ingwemabalabala’ captain said their plan was to score as many goals as possible. “In the past two seasons, we were able to score more goals which we are lacking now, so we have to practice more on finishing. I think this game is a motivation itself because no one wants to lose in a derby. There is a lot at stake; three points plus bragging rights. To improve our performance, I think we need to improve on the scoring part because most of the time we dominate the game but fail to punish the opponents. We need to be more clinical,” Dlamini said.
Buffaloes are vengeful after their last season’s second round 1-3 defeat by Leopard, after a successful 1-1 draw in the first round. In the past four seasons, Buffaloes have failed to dominate Leopard, but judging from their current form, Buffaloes are well-equipped to rewrite history in this much anticipated forces’ derby with the possibility of fielding last season’s top goalscorer Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze, who had been ruled out on injury for the past two games.
