VUKILE EXPLAINS ‘WESLIANS’ SNUB
MBABANE – “It would be suicidal for me to sacrifice my kids for Manzini Wanderers.”
These were the remarks of Manzini Wanderers’ left-back Vukile Khumalo, who has since decided to shun activities of the hub giants. Vukile thought that his career would be back on track when he joined the hub giants from Mbabane Swallows in September and is now a frustrated man as he has never received his salary in the club to date.
The soft spoken player said he was still owed his September signing-on fee he was promised when he joined the club, mentioning that he was also never paid his salary since he signed for the maroon and white. “Wanderers owe me my signing on fee and my salary since I signed in the team in September this year. It is tough to be in this situation where you are not able to support your family because you have not been paid your salary,” he said.

The left back also mentioned that he loved the team and would return anytime if his salary issues would be sorted. “In fact I have been talking to the people at the club who have been promising to work on my grievances but there has been no way forward until this time. I like Manzini Wanderers and would like to stay with the team,” he said.
Wanderers Public Relations Officer Lucky ‘Majayivane’ Dlamini mentioned that the player should go back so that they could be able to talk. “We found Vukile in the club and he must come back so that we can sort and iron out issues with him. We really need him in the team,” he said.
A source close to the club claimed that Vukile was promised a signing-on fee of E10 000 but was only given E3 000 due to the financial situation the team is currently facing. The former player from both capital city giants joined the hub giants during the beginning of the current campaign and has been tutored as one of the best signing done by Wanderers.
