‘BULL’ EDGE CLOSER TO 2ND SPOT

MBABANE – Capital City giants Mbabane Highlanders enhanced their chances of catching up with log leaders Green Mamba and second-placed Young Buffaloes in the MTN Premier League table.

This is after the Solly Luvhengo-led side beat bottom loggers and rookies Seven Dreams 2-0 yesterday at KaLanga Technical Centre. Highlanders won with the same margin in the first round against the rookies. According to reports from KaLanga, Inkunzi emnyama broke the deadlock two minutes into the game and added the second one a minute after the half-hour mark, it was Banele ‘Stiga’ Ndzabandzaba who opened the scoreboard and Kenneth Moloto made it 2-0, as the teams went for a breather.

Highlanders went to yesterday’s game occupying the fourth spot with 28 points, tied with rivals Mbabane Swallows but the two capital city giants were separated by the head-to-head rule as Inkunzi emnyama won the first round game 2-1 at Mavuso Sports Centre.

Leading

Leading the pack with 34 points is Green Mamba, while army side Young Buffaloes are on second with 33 points to Highlanders 31. This afternoon, Buffaloes have a date with the unpredictable Moneni Pirates in a tricky clash billed for Mhlume Stadium at 3:30pm, while log leaders Green Mamba play Manzini Sea Birds in a match scheduled for KaLanga Technical Centre tomorrow.
