MBABANE – Wanderers gaffer Terisayi Changara did not blame the 1-3 setback at Tambuti on his tactical changes made for Saturday’s game during the MTN Premier League week 15 fixture.

Changara threw in Bongiswa ‘Romario’ Dlamini between the sticks ahead of highly-rated recruit Sitali Nyambe . However, this was not the only change he made in his first squad, as he also had Khulekani Fakudze debuting in the first team. “We wanted to rotate the goalkeepers as we had him all along. You can’t blame that, and you can’t say it was the change of the goalkeepers.  It wasn’t our day as we tried everything but didn’t work. We felt like that maybe if we could change and give him some game time too,” said the mentor.

Mistakes

Changara added that they would go back to the drawing board to rectify the mistakes they made on the day ahead of their next test which is against venomous Green Mamba.  Meanwhile, Tambuti’s Thandumhlengi Bhembe who stood in for the head coach Ncamiso Nxumalo on the day, felt the result was not a true reflection of the game, as they could have scored more.

“We’re on a mission to survive relegation, which requires points at the end of the season. Anyways, I will commend my boys for the performance. They started very low because they didn’t do what we told them but eventually, they picked up,” said Bhembe. He mentioned that it was just a matter of targeting maximum points or at least a point in each game depending on the magnitude of the opponent. They will visit Royal Leopard in the next game.
