MBABANE – “I serve a God who makes all things possible.”

These were the comments of new Moneni Pirates attacking midfielder Sizwe Gwebu in a post-match interview after his team was defeated 2-1 by Young Buffaloes in an MTN Premier League match played at Mhlume Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Gwebu said that  the Buffaloes’ defeat was now water under the bridge but highlighted that the army side was a tough team to face. “The match against Young Buffaloes was a tough one and the way they played showed that they have a squad that has been playing together for some time now; but as a team we keep growing.  For Moneni, it’s mostly youngsters,” he said.

The 20-year-old youngster, who was born in Mhlosheni just outside Nhlangano, says his long-term dream is to play overseas one day particularly in Spain’s LaLiga. LaLiga is the men’s top professional football division of Spain. It is one of most popular professional sports leagues globally, and it is dominated by Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are powerhouses in world football.

“My wish is to play for the big teams in the country that have played in Africa like Royal Leopard, Mbabane Swallows and Young Buffaloes. It is my wish to see myself playing in the highest club competition in Africa. I am quite aware that it is not going to be easy, however with God by my side, it can be done.“I also serve a God  who does not have limits and I really hope one day I will get to play in Spain. Playing in LaLiga is possible if I will stay disciplined and take care of my body by living a clean lifestyle,” he said.
