MBABANE – Local fans who wish to watch the Soweto Derby will have to fork out E600.

The Soweto Derby is a football rivalry between South Africa’s Premier Soccer League’s Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Matches between the two rivals attract a large fan base. The rivalry is recognised as one of the biggest derbies in Africa. As the teams command a huge following even here in Eswatini, locals have been assured transport To the clash. This was according to one of the transport organisers, Bhekie Mthupha. “The transport will leave the Mbabane Mall on Saturday at 7:30am.

“There will be limited space for 25 fans and it will be a matter of first come, first served,” said Mthupha. The fee covers transport and the match ticket. Fans will return immediately after the game. Orlando Pirates will visit their arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs at the First National Bank (FNB) Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off time is 3:30pm. Pirates are currently third spot with 31 points after 20 games while Chiefs are positioned on the fifth spot with 28 points after the same number of games.
