MBABANE – Cape Town City Coach Sinethemba Badela has praised Eswatini player, Justice Figuareido.

The coach said they valued the player and they were proud to have him in the team. “Justice Figuareido has been in the best form of his career. He’s got five league goals and seven assists. In the last five matches he has three goals and four assists,” Badela said. He said the former Denver Sundowns player, who has been again left out of Sihlangu (senior national team) despite this form, has an unbelievably good work rate, while he was also a threat in the final third.

Appreciate

“He looks very good at the moment.  He’s very important for us and we appreciate him here at All Stars. He has been fantastic,” the coach said. Asked what his thoughts were about the winger not getting a national team call-up ahead of the back-to-back TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 Qualifiers against Cape Verde today and next Tuesday, he said the national team coach Dominic Kunene may have had his own reasons, so it was best to respect that. Kunene’s explanation was that his team often needed the player, citing that they could not get him last year for the COSAFA Cup, as he was with the club.

However, this is now an official Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) International break, where players are expected to join national teams and they also expect call-ups. Meanwhile, Figuareido said he supported the national team despite that he was not part of it.
He said he would continue to work harder and hopefully, the coach would consider him.
