MBABANE – Supporters across the country will be thrilled with the return of MTN Premier League action.

The league games were frozen to give way to the FIFA break. Sihlangu was involved in back-to-back TotalEnergies AFCON 2023 Qualifier fixtures, against Cape Verde that were played in the FIFA international window, which started last Monday until yesterday. The resumption of the league will see Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Swallows headlining week 20, in the MTN Premier League. These are teams that are fighting for the championship and they are second and third on the log, in that order. The two are separated by just three points. The last time the teams faced-off was at the start of the season, which played out to an entertaining 1-all draw at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium. In fact, this fixture has become synonymous to draws, with the last five meetings failing to produce a winner. The last team to prevail in this fixture was Young Buffaloes, thanks to a 3-1 victory back on October 27, 2019.

Log leaders, Green Mamba, who are on a 10-game winning streak, will be involved in Saturday’s double-header at Prince of Wales Sports Ground. The Ernest Mavuso-led charges will be the first to take to action, when they take on Mahlanya-based side, Seven Dreams, kick-off time is 1:30pm. Manzini Wanderers under a new coach in prodigal son Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe, will then face-off with Madlenya at 3:30pm. Meanwhile, action will also continue in the MTN National First Division, with Black Swallows attempting to fit a square peg into a round hole when they meet leaders Rangers in Nhlangano on Friday.
