1ST EVER PLE U-19 LEAGUE KICKS OFF
MBABANE – Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Swallows are set for a titanic clash on Good Friday, during the opener of the first-of-its-kind Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Under-19s league.
According to the PLE, week one fixture of the juniors’ league, the premier league B teams’ league will this season feature the Under-19s, as opposed to the Under-20s three seasons ago. The main attraction for the games will be the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), Kwaluseni Sports Ground, where there will be four games played during the grand opening on Friday.
Buffaloes and Swallows’ maiden clash is scheduled for 3pm after a series of matches that will be played from 9am. On the same day, Tambuti will host Moneni Pirates at Tambuti Sports Ground. Meanwhile, action will be fixed at UNESWA Sports Ground again on Saturday where there will be only two games. Seven Dreams are expected to take on Green Mamba in the curtain-raiser game at 10am, while Tambankulu Callies will cross swords with Mbabane Highlanders at noon.
Meanwhile, having junior structures of Under-15s and Under-19s is part of the CAF Club Licensing requirements for all Premier League teams. Unlicensed teams are not allowed to partake in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) tournaments that include the Champions League.
