BIRDS’ KWAKHE OUT UNTIL NEXT SEASON
MBABANE – The MTN League season is over for at least nine players, after being nabbed by the yellow card rule ahead of the season’s final games.
Four Premier League stars have been suspended, with the rest from the MTN National First Division. Mbabane Swallows are set to be without their anchorman and April’s finest, Kwakhe Tfwala on Sunday. Swallows are visiting Manzini Sea Birds in effort to consolidate their third spot on the log table. They are just three points ahead of sworn rivals Mbabane Highlanders.
Meanwhile, Manzini Wanderers’ Zambia-born import and shot-stopper Sitali Nyambe will also be out during their titanic clash against Mbabane Highlanders. Nyambe has been superb since his arrival at the team, such that he has attracted interest from Ethiopia Premier League team Ethiopian Coffee SC. On another note, title hopefuls Young Buffaloes will be minus sturdy defender Siboniso ‘Sithobela’ Mamba. Mandla ‘Stofu’ Dlamini’s men will take on Tambankulu Callies in a must-win game to stand better chances of snatching the title if log leaders Green Mamba slip against Royal Leopard.
These players were suspended the in terms of Article 9.2 (1.1) of the MTN Premier League as well as the Article 9.1 (a) of the National First Division Rules and Regulations. The articles stipulates that any player who picks up three yellow cards automatically becomes suspended from participating for his team in the next match.
