MBABANE – Zambian shot stopper Sitali Nyambe is staying put with hub giants Manzini Wanderers.

This is amid claims that he has never received a salary from the maroon and white outfit, which is known for not affording such for the better part of last season. They survived relegation following their financial struggles but brought back veteran coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe to save them with a few games remaining, before the season ended – and so he did with the assistance of a few other dedicated men and women like lawyer Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli, Lucky ‘Majaviyane’ Dlamini and Diana Johnson to name some. Nyambe has decided to put on hold his plans of leaving, after reports he was on Ethiopian Coffee SC’s radar as reported by our sister publication, the Times of Eswatini re

Nyambe, also former Budapest Honvert (Hungary) player, has also affirmed the latest. “It’s true I have extended my stay at Manzini Wanderers for another year and I’m happy with everything. I have decided to put on hold the move with Ethiopian Coffee because of the love I have for Wanderers and I want to be part of the players who will do everything to turn things around in the club,” he said. He also said next season they would try everything to challenge for every trophy that will be available. “I believe we have many great players starting in the goalkeepers to the strikers in the club. I urge the supporters to continue supporting the club,” he added. Meanwhile, the hub side’s management committee (MC) is reported to have met with the player and the team’s MC.“Nyambe is definitely staying with the club after signing for another season and the club has been left impressed by the Zambian goalkeeper.

Loyalty

“The team is planing to returning back to its glory days and the MC of the club felt it needed to keep all the best players, starting with Nyambe who has shown loyalty,” one official confirmed on condition of anonymity as no immediate comment could be obtained from their Public Relations Officer (PRO) Majayivane. Meanwhile, in Ethiopia, the team that was said to have an interest in him, Ethiopian Coffee Sport Club is a professional football club based in Addis Ababa. They are a member of the Ethiopian Football Federation and play in the top division, the Ethiopian Premier League. Their home stadium is Addis Ababa Stadium. Along with rivals Saint George, it boasts one of the largest fan bases in Ethiopia.
