SA, LESOTHO, MOZ JOIN CYCLE TOUR
MANZINI – The AlphSZBorder2Border Cycle Tour attracted riders from as far as South Africa, Lesotho and Mozambique.
The 240km social ride started at Ngwenya Border Gate and went past Mbabane through to the Mbabane-Manzini highway past the hub. The cyclists made a stop at the King Somhlolo Park in Manzini, where different festivities were witnessed, before cycling past with the race set to finish at Lavumisa Border Gate. There were traditional dance performances being Sibhaca, Lutsango and also some speeches from Manzini City Council, Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA) and Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA). Some of the South Africans who were spotted and interviewed at the hub are Teboho Phangela and Matumelo Tjabadi who said they were both from Johannesburg. Some local cycling clubs that participated are mainly from Kusekhaya Cycling Club and MTN Khemani.
Some of those confirmed Kusekhaya cyclists are Bonsile Nkambule, Dudu Dlamini, Simphiwe Dlamini, Felix Gamedze, Lindo Tsabedze, Club Principal Mduduzi Kaudi and Mpendulo Mndlovu. Others from the hosting club were Mthunzi Tsabedze, Muzi Dlamini, ECA Secretary Mxolisi Shongwe, Ntsika Fakudze, Phila Nkambule and Sandile Shongwe. The likes of Shirley Saulus, Sibusiso Magagula, Maqhawe Ndlovu, Sifiso Nxumalo, Siphesihle Nhlabatsi, Tanele Motsa, Thandeka Vilane, Thando Dlamini, Victor Maseko, Xolani Shongwe, Zakithi Nhleko and Zethu Shongwe also took part in the race.
