NHLANGANO – Kino Dlamini was a hero for MTN National First Division hopefuls, Vusweni Killers as he scored a brace in the Shiselweni Regional Super League play-offs played yesterday.

The deadly attacking midfielder opened the floodgates just five minutes into the game when he connected brilliantly a pass from the flank. Kino was a marvel on the ball for his side as he produced countless chances for Killers to increase their 1-0 lead. Celtics with their 4-3-2-1 formation struggled to combine in the attacking third, which gave Killers more room to dominate.
He completed his brace a minute before half time as he let fly a scorcher at the edge of the box, which gave Celtics goalkeeper no chance between the sticks.

The Middle Man came to Celtic’s rescue when he blew the whistle to mark the end of the first half with Killers leading 2-0. Vusweni Young Killers came with only one goal in mind and that was to collect all points from the fixture. Killers added the third gaol four minutes into the second stanza, this time through Andile Mkhonta, who tapped in from close range. The visitors did not give up, they continued to regroup as best as they could, but the rampant Killers were a hard nut to crack. Killers had a flat three at the back that did not play under pressure as their communication was on point, knowing when they needed a sweeper as well as knowing when to clear the ball first time.

They understood their opponents had more height at the back and so they opted to keep the ball on the ground. In the 80th minute, Andiswa Sibandze met a very good cross from Lindokuhle Dlamini to slot in a fourth for his side.  Celtics got their consolation goal five minutes before regulation time through Wandile Dludlu. The result means that Killers are one foot into the National First Division. The second leg will be played next week at the same venue.
