MBABANE - Tertiary sports are back into action.

The last time they had sports and participated in international universities and colleges’ games was before COVID-19. Dynamic Distributors had been the main sponsor for years but after the pandemic, there were no competitive or sponsored tertiary sports in the country. However, Standard Bank, through the Unayo product, has come forward to sponsor the students with an impressive E100 000. The tertiary teams were competing in soccer and volleyball, both males and females. They also competed in netball as well.

The games were played last Saturday at the University of Eswatini, Kwaluseni sports Emporium and the university’s Multi-Purpose Hall. When the competition kicked off, students proved to have great energy and were ready to take their oppositions head on. Kwaluseni ladies, together with Luyengo Campus ladies, played an interesting game as both teams finished their match with a goalless draw, which resulted in both teams merging to penalty shoot-outs. Kwaluseni settled the match by 4-3. Meanwhile, Unayo Cup champions, Kwaluseni gents played an amazing match and won on penalties against Luyengo after playing a 2-2 draw in the regulated minutes.  Wandile Ntshakala of Denver Sundowns became a great inspiration for the Kwaluseni Campus.
