MBABANE – It will be another exhibition bout that will be a head-turner.

Eswatini Boxing Association (EBA) has once again grabbed this opportunity to showcase one of the hilarious bouts. This will be during this year’s Eswatini Biggest Braai scheduled for July 8, this year. Popular Mountain of Salvation Prophet, Vusi ‘Major V’ Dlamini, is set to exchange leather on the canvas with People’s United Democratic Movement’s (PUDEMO) Mphandlana Shongwe. The duo is set to face-off in the ring in one of the bouts scheduled to begin in the afternoon on the day. EBA President Webster Lukhele has confirmed what looks to be the major headliner of their bouts, along with some others, who are yet to be confirmed. “We can for now confirm this bout of these two celebrities and soon we will be announcing more. This is one of the many ways we are trying to give back to the society, while at the same time marketing the sport. We have seen it quite fit to grab such opportunities availed by such events to revive and reignite it after the COVID-19 pandemic,” Lukhele said.

In one of the fascinating exhibition bouts organised by EBA last year on December 26 termed Boxing Day, there were hilarious displays of boxing skills from the two bouts. They pitted prominent figures such as former Nhlambeni Member of Parliament (MP) and gospel star Frans Dlamini and Mzwakhe Myeni. PUDEMO’s Mphandlana also exchanged hooks and upper-cuts with veteran boxer Mphucuko Makama on the same day. “We are trying to strengthen our grassroots levels by appealing to individuals who may be still thinking that boxing is a dangerous sport. We must reach out to them in a more entertaining way because more than anything else, boxing is meant for relaxation,” the president said.Spectators will also witness top local boxers taking into the ring.
