‘WESLIANS’ RELEASE ‘GUDAS’, 6 OTHERS
MBABANE – Up to seven players have been deemed surplus to requirements at hub giants Manzini Wanderers.
The list of players put on transfer is headlined by former Mbabane Swallows midfielder Bonginkhosi ‘Gudas’ Dlamini. Gifted midfielder Menzi Mamba is among the players not in the technical team’s plans for the upcoming season. Reports suggest that some of the players were put on transfer because they were living very far from team’s camp base. Mamba, for instance, is based in Mhlume and costs the team up to E6 000 per month to transport him.
Majahesibili ‘Giggs’ Ndlovu, Amos Kaonde, Amos Kusi and striker Maswazi Dlamini complete the list of players who are free to join teams of their choice.
Confirming the latest developments, Wanderers Management Committee Chairman Berger Nxumalo said the plan was to loan the players to other teams so that they could get game time. “On behalf of the team, we would like to thank the players for their notable contribution in our survival bid,” said Nxumalo. Wanderers cheated the axe towards the end of the past season. They are expected to overhaul the squad in order to leave a mark in the new campaign. No immediate comment could be sourced from the affected players at the time of compiling this report.
