PLE SUSPENDS ‘BULL’ STAR, 3 OTHERS

MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has suspended Mbabane Highlanders player Mpendulo Tfomo ahead of the team’s upcoming game against Ezulwini United tomorrow.

The Mbabane giants will be missing their defensive midfielder Tfomo in this weekend’s game due to a suspension, for accumulating three yellow cards in six matches, according to the PLE. As per Article 37(2) of the 2023 MTN Premier League Rules and Regulations, a player who receives six yellow cards is automatically suspended for his team’s next two matches, which means that, the influential midfielder will be unavailable for Highlanders’ upcoming league match at Mavuso Sports Centre tomorrow and during their Ingwenyama Cup quarter-final match against the same opponent, the date of which has not yet been announced.

Missing

Meanwhile, Manzini Sea Birds will also be missing two key players in versatile player Gcinizwi Dlamini and goalkeeper Bafana Ngwenya, when they host Nsingizini Hotspurs on Sunday at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in the first game of a double-header. The match is scheduled to start at 1pm, followed by a second game featuring Rangers against Young Buffaloes at 3:30pm.
