ESWATINI LEAGUE HAS QUALITY PLAYERS - ZULU

MANZINI – “I have been impressed.”

These were the words of Mbabane Highlanders’ new player, Pentjie Zulu, who said that the MTN Premier League is home to many talented players who have the potential to succeed in South Africa’s top-flight league, the DStv Premiership. The former Bidvest Wits player, who is valued at E2.5 million according to the well-known international football website Transfermarkt, made this statement after helping his team secure a 1-0 victory over Ezulwini United in an MTN Premier League match held at the Mavuso Sports Centre this past Saturday.
“First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to the Mbabane Highlanders family for welcoming me so warmly to the team and to the country. I was delighted to make my debut for the team and I sincerely believe that there are many players in the league and in the team who have the potential to succeed in South Africa’s DStv Premiership. I believe that the key to achieving this is maintaining discipline both on and off the field. In the short time that I have been in the country, I have come to realise that Eswatini has the capability to produce more players who can excel in the DStv Premiership,” he said.

Zulu expressed confidence that he will return to play in South Africa’s DStv Premiership next season. “I still harbour hopes of returning to play in the DStv Premiership once again. Age is not a concern for me, as I am still able to perform at the same level as I did in my younger years. In my opinion, players should be judged on their performance, rather than their age. I believe that as long as a player is still capable of contributing to a team’s success, their age should not be a factor in determining their worth,” he added. The veteran defender went on to express his desire to win a title with Highlanders, mentioning that the team has many talented players and that if they continue to work together cohesively, they have the potential to exceed expectations and surprise many people.
