NEW PB FOR CHADD IN WORLD CHAMPS
MBABANE – Eswatini Swimming athlete Chadd Ning attained a new personal best (PB) time in the 100-metre breaststroke event yesterday morning.
This impressive feat was accomplished during the ongoing 2024 World Aquatics Championships held in Doha, Qatar. The Eswatini Swimming Team consisting of athletes Chadd Ning and Siwakhile Dlamini, as well as swimming Coach Mark Hoare and Secretary General Nozipho Mahlalela are currently in Doha to participate in the prestigious competition, which includes various aquatic disciplines such as swimming, diving, water polo, synchronised swimming and open water swimming.

Chadd finished his 100m breaststroke event with a time of 1:10.55 minutes. Association Secretary-General (SG) Nozipho Mahlalela expressed her happiness with the athlete’s performance, stating that it was a result of his hard work and dedication. “We are very proud of his performance; it shows that our athletes are putting in the work and reaping rewards and we hope both him and Siwakhile will continue doing well in the,” she said. Chadd expressed his satisfaction with achieving another personal best time and voiced his aspirations to improve upon his previous day’s performance. “While I am not fully content with the outcome, I am committed to continuous improvement,” he said.
Chadd will wrap up her races with the 50m breaststroke event tomorrow, while Siwakhile will start with the 100m freestyle on Thursday and the 50m freestyle on Saturday. The 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha are expected to conclude this week. The 2024 World Aquatics Championships serve as a qualifying event for the Olympic Games, which are an international swimming and diving competition, which began on February 2 to 18. This event is organised by the World Aquatics (formerly known as FINA) and features some of the world’s best swimmers, divers, synchronised swimmers and water polo players.
