MBABANE – The one-year-old Manzini Parkrun record remains untouched as the first runner home, Ronny Mawelela, failed to break it, in yesterday’s edition held at the Manzini Golf Course.

The male course record of 15:48 minutes, which was set by runner Mancoba Nhlabatsi in January last year will have to stand for yet another week as Mawelela completed the 5km course of the 80th edition in a time of 19:28 minutes. He was followed home by Thulane Lulane in a time of 22:27 minutes. Claiming the third spot and setting a new personal best (PB) time in the process was Nkosikhona Ginindza in a time of 27:06 minutes.

Coming home in the fourth position was Sibusiso Zulu, who was completing his 41st parkrun covered the 5km course in a time of 29:57 minutes, while rounding up the top five was first timer Reabetsoe Hlosi, who recorded a time of 31:05 minutes. Meanwhile, in the ladies run, Victoria Nxumalo claimed the first place finish, when she recorded a time of 55:56 as a park walker. The second lady home was Karin Byars in a time of 57:55 minutes, taking the third place was Nolene Henwood, who recorded a time of 1:01:23 hours.
