KWAKHE, MESHACK SMOKE PEACE PIPE

Mbabane – Following the eventful Sunday that saw Mbabane Swallows’ Kwakhe Thwala and Nsingizini Hotspurs’ Meshack Lushaba engage in a heated altercation, the pair has extended apologies to each other.

Both individuals took to their respective Facebook pages to announce that they had resolved their differences and were moving past the incident. Thwala expressed his sincere regret for his actions that led to the regrettable altercation between the team officials during their match against Nsingizini Hotspurs at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium on Sunday. He acknowledged that his behaviour was entirely unacceptable and did not align with the respect and sportsmanship he aimed to embody as a player. Thwala also issued an apology to his teammates, recognising the impact of his actions on the team and expressing remorse for the distraction caused.

He further extended his apologies to Hotspurs and their player Lushaba, acknowledging that his behaviour was not in line with the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship. Thwala also expressed regret for the negative impact his actions had on the experience of the Swallows supporters, team stakeholders, league sponsors and the wider soccer community. He concluded by pledging to regain trust and respect through his future conduct both on and off the field. On the other hand, Lushaba offered his apologies for the incident that occurred on Sunday in Nhlangano. He emphasised that the issue was now behind them and expressed his remorse to everyone involved. The match concluded in a 1-all draw. The altercation unfolded when Lushaba tackled Thwala, leading to a retaliatory action from both players, ultimately involving officials from both teams.
